GOSH Cell and Gene Therapy Service

Overview

Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has a new GMP manufacturing facility in the ZCR building this was licensed in January 2023 for ATMPs and for vectors in October 2023.

The department is known as the “GOSH Cell and Gene Therapy Service”.

Manufacturing Capability

  • The new facility has 5 Grade C cleanrooms which add to the footprint and capabilities of the licence which has been running on the main site for many years.

Collaboration

In collaboration with UCL research pipeline GOSH currently manufactures ATMPs directly for a number of clinical trials running at multiple UK sites.
We also host under our licence:

  • Virocell Biologics who manufacture vectors for clinical trials
  • Leucid Bio who are manufacturing an ATMP (CAR-T) for clinical trials.

We are open to collaborations with other researchers and are exploring obtaining an MIA for manufacture of licensed products for rare diseases. If you’d like to discuss further please get in touch.

Experience

We have experience in:
CAR-T manufacture on a range of platforms (Xuri Wave, Prodigy, G-Rex)
Gene editing by electroporation
Gene modified CD34+ stem cells
Antigen stimulated T cells products
Lentiviral vector (Virocell Biologics)
